GT Towing (Hatfield) sell a gaiter that you can stretch over the ball coupling. Put it in some hot water to soften it and with a bit of lube it will stretch over. I was rather skeptical but it worked easily.
@fizzy is the trailer one that has a brake as you slow down?
If so just unbolt all the neck and disconnect the linkage haven’t done one for ages but it’s not hard
@fizzy This is an ifor car trailer at work and it only has one
I think you are right about this car trailer. Mine only seems to have one but then again it is pretty hefty I suppose. As I recall they have a second one at 90 degrees to the one you can see, and it is covered by the boot. Take a closer look/peel it back and I think you’ll see one.
It's likely it will also be a high tensile steel nut & bolt rather than a general use mild steel arrangement .I think you are right about this car trailer. Mine only seems to have one but then again it is pretty hefty I suppose.
Never liked Jesus bolts or pins though!
