I stopped the site meeting, interesting to see a yard of blokes of all ages stop and have 2 minutes to reflect, everyone has a different background and a different thing to think about

Absolutely, never forget. I still believe passionately that Armistice day should be a bank holiday. It is in France, so why not the UK?

Great Uncle Arthur, never made it home. Killed in action about a month before the end of WW1.

I always wear a Poppy on the 11th, though not necessarily the nearest Sunday that officially is recognised.

I see no issue with me spraying paint in my workshop today wearing a poppy, but I did stop and have a deep think at 11:00

Was sad to see no mention of it yesterday at work. We would always have a minute's silence at 11am, every year since I started there.

Too much covid thinking, I guess

In Amberley church yard, about 2 miles from me is the grave of Major General Sir Fabian Ware, he was the founder of what is now the Commonwealth war graves commission. He started a very worthwhile thing, the good work which is still carried on today.
