you're still drinking at those prices
There is still the beauty of the old town left. Equally, some of the less favoured edifices have departed. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2258
Right - that's the whole of the weekend lost in front of the PC!
I doubt either of us would have complained about the 'historic' Newcastle Grainger and co swept aside!
Did you have a vehicle or just a collectorI started buying petrol when it was 35p a gallon.
I (didn't) know that Ringtons was Newcastle based!
But I do know I'm not old enough to recall that scene.
I am however old enough to remember T Dan Smith arriving at our school in his Jaguar MkX (or 420G) to give us a lecture. He boasted he planned to turn Newcatle into the Brasilia of the North.
Between him and Poulson they dman near did. Poor old Richard Grainger, John Dobson and the Green father and son must be screaming in their graves
Purely for investment porpoises.Did you have a vehicle or just a collector
He was a bit of a lad in his day i rememberBloody hell, T. Dan Smith, thee's a name from the past. I seem to recall most of my childhood hearing that name on the radio and TV, was there a big corruption scandal? Him, Jeremy Thorpe, Lord Lucan, Ted Heath, Ndabaninge Sitole, Abel Muzarewah (sp?), Yasser Arafat, Idi Amin... all had their days of (in)fame in my youth
I hope you bought plenty you would certainly be Better off financially then using a bank to gain interest, if onlyPurely for investment porpoises.

Bl@@dy awful things, they would go every time UNLESS you needed it to, then they never would. We were out in a boat at Portland many years ago & had one as an emergency spare engine. Ran it up before leaving, great, got about 2 miles out to sea & the main outboard stopped. No problem we thought, fit Seagull & away. About an hour & half later, pulling on the string, cleaning the plug etc. we realised we were going nowhere. Out with the flares & put the rocket up, the inshore volunteer rescue boat came out & towed us in. When he saw the Seagull on the back he laughed & said "they always let you down when needed" later we wound the string on, & off it went.Seagull outboard motors, 10 to 1 petrol oil mix, they used to leave a blue haze & oil slick behind them. They also used to coke up easily & would then refuse to stop popping & banging as they ran on. Only way to stop one like this was to be bold & grab the flywheel hard with both hands.
