Shut up, Shut up, Shut up, I remember all of this, every post so far and then some, I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes remembering all the good times, and things, I had growing up.

Anyone remember the Black and White mistral show on a Saturday night, or the London Palladium with the tiller girls? Penny dainty chews, grocer shops, Embassy number 10.
I remember getting the phone in our house, our first gas fire and being converted from town gas to natural gas, and the first colour TV in Edinburgh. Those were certainly the days.

Written off (damaged beyond economic repair) 18/10/1963 when force-landed onto the disused airfield at Sealand, near Quennsferry, Flintshire, and struck an obstruction. The pilot had received a fire warning and had shut down the engine. The aircraft force landed at Sealand after the pilot had mistaken the airfield for nearby Hawarden

I watched it come in I was about 1/2 mile away he went over one set of power lines and under the others with no engine power,
no one would believe me it was crashing, he though he was landing at hawarden poor guy lost both legs

Woodbine cigarettes, you had to be desperate to smoke those, some old farts would not smoke anything else, but offered one of those I would do without. Haven't smoked for 40 years, that's probably what made me give up. Embassy were 1/11d when they came out, then Cadets came on the market, I think they were 1/6d for ten if my memory is right.

Milk machines are something I haven't seen for years, very good if you got a flat tyre on hour pushbike, buy a pint of milk put about a cupful in the pump & push it into the tyre. Pump up tyre & drink the rest of the milk. The milk turns to butter inside the tyre & blocks the hole. Got home many times with that.

Weed killer & sugar bombs, we'd better not go into them!

Local ironmongers did a roaring trade with weedkiller, if half of it had actually been used for killing weeds, round here would have been permanently defoliated.
As for woodbines a mate who is rather older than me used to buy them from Aggies station stores by the 5, apparently the local pro who lived just up the road in a caravan would provide a shag for a couple of woodbines.
Thank god im not that old!

My mam made me grind the edges of a half penny bit on the step to fit in the shilling gas meter...then on meter day she would have a purse full of shillings to make it up as it got opened. Every september before she took me down town for my new shirt and school trousers we had to go in the pawn brokers to pawn her wedding rings for the money,buy the gear then straight up to Woolies to buy plastic lookalike rings incase my old man found out. These kids now no nothing about survival

?last longer? Nay lad. Running as fast as you were able in the schoolyard and 'sliding' with sparks flying.

It did take a while to get up to speed, segs not being known for grip on tarmac.
