need some advice on when to release our young kittens we have from a friends farm, they are to live in the shed as we have reccurent rat problems,we've had them a week so far & are feeding them daily & changing bedding but only minimal handling,however, aswell as staying at base they have to get used to our collie who is very keen to play,albeit in a boisterous manne,r that is until they start to become the new boss i suspect.

Just doing something similar at the stables with a couple of semi-feral kittens.
If they've been spayed, about 3 weeks before releasing was what we were advised. Also check they've had all their jabs.

What does a recurrent rat look like ? If they've not been spayed you'll be having a recurrent cat problem instead 
My uncle used to have a scrapyard and he was overrun with feral cats, they used to attack your legs as you were walking past the stacks.
