Relay Wiring

I'll have another play with it over the weekend and see if I can figure out exactly how it works.

One thing that doesn't help is that it has 6 functions but 11 or 12 clicks on the dial.
I'm not 100% sure what function I'm actually selecting..

Oh yeah that wouldn’t help!!

We used to have pcb mounted rotary switches on some equipment that needed setting correctly, they had markings on but the only way you could ever accurately set the was to go back to zero and count the clicks. Go by the markings and they never worked properly!

Well on this one the markings seem to align with the functions.
Counting clicks (so the pointer in-between markings) does not give function.

If I plug the hair dryer and the kettle into the monitored socket I can run the hairdryer on speed 1 or 2 without triggering the relay.
Speed 3 on the dryer or turning on the kettle will trigger the relay.
This is exactly what I want.
Except I have the red light flashing all the time (when the relay is not triggered)

If I fiddle with the MIN dial I can get the following,
Hairdryer off or speed 1 - red flashing
Hairdryer speed 2 - red on permanently
Hairdryer speed 3 - relay switched on
But, if I go back from speed 3 to speed 2 the relay doesn't turn off again. I need to go back to speed 1 or off for the relay to drop out.

I'm probably over thinking this and don't need to be messing with it so much.

I'll round up the actual equipment I'm planning to use with it and see if it works as intended..
