I was pleasantly surprised how much easier windows was to install the other week, I'm mac through and through but we do have 3x gaming PCs in the house for the kids. All needed more space so we decided to move to SSD for the OS. I had previously upgraded each one to Windows 10 Pro via my microsoft account which manages licences for our OS's and Office etc. I new windows can't easily be transferred to another drive so decided on a fresh install. Downloaded the OS from MS onto a memory stick, swapped the HDD for the new SSD and booted with the stick. It sailed through and licensed its self from the Device ID it had for the machine which was a nice surprise as i was expecting a right load of messing.

I understood none of this. I bet if these two were code setters they would give give the enigma machine a hard time.
Now understanding computers in language for normal folk.
Computers are simple machines. Hit the on button it it should do “stuff”, if it doesn’t then switch it on and off again (that’s what our front line support usually say), next if it still doesn’t do “stuff” I find a few choice swear words can help. This is quite tricky and not always guaranteed as you need to direct swear words specifically to the “thing” not working. When you don’t know which “thing” isnt working to let you do the “stuff” that you want to do, all is not lost as its good to vent off when you can’t do “stuff” because the “thing” isn’t working.
After the above repair attempt to fix the “thing” do not press any buttons to attempt fixing the “thing” yourself, I’ve found that diy attempts at fixing “things” usually results in many many other “things” that need to be fixed, some of these “things” can be difficult to find and can randomly affect other “stuff” from happening. It’s best left to a good mate who’s an expert in fixing “things” and who’s easily bribed with food n drink.
