Hi all - hope you can help a Kiwi boy out with a bit of info. - a little cross-platform, but experts are experts, right?
#1 Looking at a Lincoln 170 (or similar) for light fabrication and panel repair - is the gas "flow meter" these hobby migs come with adequate, or should I shell out extra for a twin gauge regulator?
#2 Can I use one of the regs off my old oxy/acetylene set, which are good quality twin gauge items?
#3 I know this is the wrong forum, but should it make any difference which connection on my 180 amp single phase arc welder is for earth? The connections on the unit are identical for both and one is marked "E", but this could mean "Earth" or "Electrode", right? There is a definite difference in the sound and look of the arc when swapped over, but not at all sure which way is "better" - both produce acceptable welds. Its a good quality locally made machine, but the manufacturer is no longer in business.
I'd appreciate any help on these subjects.
