I agree with the previous posts, 200 ft of 3/8 hose

Never noticed he is using 200 Ft of hose

Max should be about 50 ft and it would need to be 1/2" for that distance.

In our business we had an air installation in the workshop, that consisted of an air ring main in 1" bore galv pipe which served 8 FRL take off's. The shop was 4500 sq ft and 40 mtrs long, 2 of the FRL's were at the end of the shop on either side and the compressor was in the middle of one side. All the tool air lines were 1/2" x 30 ft max, blow lines were 3/8" x 50 ft max. Even then the tools used on the most remote FRL's had less poke than those nearer to the compressor.

The compressor was an HPC screw, 40 CFM.

So1o,as you are only going to use 1 tool at a time ,why not return the cp impact wrench and check out the cordless or mains powered impact wrench's ?...i've used a few ,makita 110v,sealey cordless and snap-on cordless all have been very useful and frequently less hassle,for quick jobs than the air powered guns.....and both air and cordless/corded could be used at same time ?....i realise they have their own set of problems ,worth considering at least?...depends how much you paid for the cp impact wrench

I will be honest, i did not even think about getting a petrol/diesel compressor.

I have returned the gun, the seller did not agree to me trying it which i dont blame him for. I agree with what your saying but because i have such a long hose i dont think it would work for me.

What sort of CFM compressor do you think would be adequate for my purpose. I want full power for my air tools especially the air wrench. Another thing i thought of is changing the pump. Is it worth it? Are they interchangeable or am i better of getting a different compressor?

You will not be achieving anything by changing the pump at all, put a bigger pump on and you will have to put on a bigger motor to spin it. I would think about a petrol one if I were you,I have a small 9cfm 3hp petrol one and its been very handy in the situations like yours where you need air power in the middle of a field etc, bit noizy but its not running all the time.

Thank for the help. I use to get the lads the sealey cordless impact wrench and tbh they were great. Worked very well. My biggest problem is working outside, rain or shine work has to be done. The weather killed so many of my electric impact wrenches that this is the solution i have come up with but it seems i have not approached it the right way.

I am also thinking of making a small shed/hut in to put the compressor in the middle of the yard so im using 20 metres of air pipe at the most.

I did think of the cordless snapon impact gun have use dit before and tbh it was much muxch better then the sealey ones i bought.

Not tried these ,but at that price they are disposable ..keep the receipt just in case.....cheapy..........at 20 meters you should be on a winner with air...

An update.......

I sold the ingersoll rand 2135 qtimax. I was looking for the most powerful 1/2" air wrench with the lowest cfm rating. I found one the snap-on mg725.

I got a 1/2" filter regulator as suggested. The filter reg is connected directly to my compressor then my 30 metre 3/8" id hose is connected to that. I gave it a try and it works lovely. Does everything i wanted it to do. I was struggling to undo wheel nuts with a breaker bar roughly 20 inches long and my gun just zapped them right off, im very happy that its worked out the way i wanted it to. I have connected up both 30 metre hoses and it still works like it should.

Anyway just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me out.

oh yes i have set the pressure at 100 psi roughly to make up for losses etc...

I think i might but for the moment i just add a few drops before and after use and give it a whizz.

Glad it all worked out for you ,nothing like trying everything out and finding it works .......have you tried with both hoses attached as well ?
