Registering Lease Hold.

Anyone familiar with registering leasehold land.
I.e the sort that your house sits on and you pay a yearly fee to someone who holds the freehold.

Seems like the land registry don't know it's @#£_ from it's elbow. Everytime I phone I get told something different.
Seems like they can't decide if I use form FR1 or not. Sometimes they say it's fine other times they say it's not a first voluntary registration as that gives you 25% discount .

Other times they say it's form AP1 but no one can be clear on the fee I need to send in.

Anyone done this before?

They might enable you to educate yourself on what is needed if the LR themselves do not know. Or if you can quote a specific section of the guide to them, it may help. Or if they say 'computer says no', you can ask them to quote the chapter and subheading from the guide whence the 'no' originated.

Your hourly rate for reading them is likely a lot lower than paying a solicitor to do the same.

yeah they sent me that..lol I did say have you read that guide ...to which they always say yes.
My reply is well if you read it and keep telling me different things how the hell can I be expected to get it right..lol
