So picked up my first mill this weekend, bit bigger than I had intended but it was a good price so hey, lets have a go
Plan is to use it for engine work, skimming heads, fly cutting cases for aircooled vdubs etc. Would love to be able to do some boring with it as well but may not be up to that for a while.
So, never had a mill, never done any milling, but ya gotta start somewhere
Don't think it will end up as nice as Brew's Tom and will probably be a slow process but will try and document as much as possible on here if people are interested?
Would also like as much advice as possible on the refurb and what to look for etc so any contributions are gratefully recieved.
Done the research on lathes.co.uk etc but very little written about the Beaver's so any info please post here as well
Will post questions up later but first up some pics.
Seperated the table and arm to help with transport. Was still a pig too unload using a combination of 1T engine crane and my 3T 4 post ramp to get them out of the trailer. Reckon the main body is about 900kg, arm 300kg and table 100+
Got them onto pallets so i can move around the workshop anyways.
Needs cleaning up but the saddle and table don't look too bad on first inspection.
Will post a few more pics when i get a chance.
Cheers,
MM
