That's actually quite cool, looks more repeatable and accurate. I'd still never use it.

It would be no good to me either, only this morning I had to cut a bit of timber to fit exactly in a space 27" plus 2 and a smidgen mm long.![]()

we use similar measurements but its built around an ants body part

My old man always quoted gnat's so I'm presuming a gnat is an Imperial measurement.
