recycling stuff from my junk yard

Well guys its not anything incredible but I've been working over the last few weeks its no where from complete but its a bit of fun its gunna be my back gate I'm just waiting for some wood now to make slats ect frames made and square

As I've had the frame built for a while it started life a brace in a barn roof I have cut it up to length and made the frame in to a gate as I've made my mind everything on in the gate has to be made of recycled material I've finally come across some wood that was decking I've cut it to length just got to take the screws out make some top and bottom runners to secure it make some brackets and fix it.

after a long weekend and the weather being alright I got the screws out the boards and got it all painted still got a little bit more to do but it's getting there bar paint has been made from everything found in our scrap yard

Nice job, I also used decking for a couple of back garden gates, it's cheap, ready treated and so far been in place 12 years with not a hint of rotting.

You may find though that over a 2m span if only tied in at the ends there can be a fair bit of distortion due to weather changes, think I would be tempted to have a flat bar across at mid way on the back surface.

I have done that mate I'll get a picky when I'm home it goes across the diagonal on the back as these boards are quite warped already

fitted the gate today just need to put the latch through next
