Record Vice washer size

Hoping the collective can point me to some kind of washer magic emporium that stocks what I'm after as I'm hitting a wall.

I'm not totally sure what Record Vice I actually have, but I do know the washer that goes between the spring and roll pin on the spindle is bent and needs replacing (already straightened it once but its clearly weak).

Removed it and its coming up as 30mm OD, 24mm ID, 2mm thick.

Theres obviously a tiny bit of wiggle room on the measurements, and I'm willing to do a bit of fileing if its slightly undersize on the ID, but everything I've found so far is way out when it comes to the ID/OD relationship. The only washers that I can find that are bang on spec, are copper - which is obviously no good at all.

Any suggestions?

Anyone with a cnc plasma cutter could knock one out in five minutes for you.

Start with an M16 washer (30mm OD) and make the inside bigger or use an M22 washer (39mm OD) and make the outside smaller.

They wil be thicker than your measurement (and hence stronger), but that will just compress the spring a bit more.

If the thickness is crucial, choose a penny (mudguard) washer of the correct thickness and OD and make the hole bigger (M10 x 30 washer looks like it is 2mm thick).

No standard washer will be to those dimensions as it is only 3mm between ID and OD (30-24)/2=3.

Unfortunately most of my contacts are barely familiar with a screwdriver let alone decent hardware (I'm familiar just don't have enough space )

Think M16 washer will be the route then. I've got a step drill that will allow me to get the inner right. Doing it the other way I've got nothing that's going to keep it particularly round on the OD front. Cheers!

It is going to be difficult to hold while drilling.

I wonder if supergluing it to a piece of wood would hold long enough for the step drill to work. Even better than superglue might be soldering it to a bigger piece of metal that already has a 24mm hole in it. Desolder when it is drilled out.

I would think that, of the two, soldering would be your best bet.

Is it actually causing any problem, as is? Those washers do have a tendency to fold over the pin, to a degree.
