Record vice spares

I bought a record 6vs swivel bench vice about 10 years ago when i was serving my time , i hadn't much money at the time but decided to buy the best i could afford , i was clamping a heavy lump of bar a while ago when the moveable jaw let out a massive bang and flew past my face , i have gotten another vice from a friend but i feel its wasteful to dump the old one. Does anyone know if spares for these vices are available.

weld it back together and use it for light duties.

i detest welding cast iron and i don't really do light duties lol , i don't have the room for more then one vice anyway so one has to do it all.
i am a bit disappointed with the vice to be honest , i ponied up the extra cash for it and it let me down when i seen rubbishy taiwanese ones taking dogs abuse.

I must admit ive had newish record vice which failed aswell so it went in the scrap pile. im now using a vice which had been used by my dad probarly before I was born and ive used it for the last 4 years without a problem.
my dad had used it heavily for years and its never needed a repair.

scrap it and look for an old one...

Its an english made one though , or at least says made in england on the side, i asked in a tool shop and the owner reckons the new ones are cast in poland or somewhere and have been giving trouble. You're right though i have seen vices that must have been made before the war and they're still perfect.
It says a lot about industrial decline when even a vice can't be made properly.
