recommendations for small chopsaw or bandsaw?

just my humble, dont go for a cheap upright benchtop bandsaw - the fences are rubbish and you will be chasing your tail on blade tracking.

These are what I have and they take little space, and with a table either made or supplied with the Femi, I would not go back to an upright again unless it was a really good one.

Even the Adli workzone one has been really good and been through a fair bit of railtrack

about 80? I think fair few on here got them, the vice is not much cop out of the box but can be modded to work well, did mine.

That’s like buying a hammer and complaining about the noise.

Not at all, you buy a chop saw knowing what your getting and it’s own downfalls, Then upgrade to a nice bandsaw.....then get a iron worker too for solid stock

Scheppach is identical to the workzone...I got fed up of waiting for Aldi stock!

Like everything else prices have gone up.

I have the italian made femi band saw with the large 250mm vice, does really nice cuts, it’s got adjustable speed for different materials and it’s so small that it fits on most workbenches. Since buying the band saw I rarely use the tct chop saws, I have a dewalt and a ridgid as well. The dewalt is got a crooked table being pressed steel, the ridges has cast table but a rubbish pneumatic vice which don’t tighten well sometimes! All in all the little femi comes top trumps every time and cuts really nice miters as well which require minimal dressing ! Worth every quid imho !

I'd be looking at a proper cold cut saw or one of the Femi benchtop bandsaws.

The fast running chop saws like the evolution seem like madness to me.
