Recommendations for McPherson struts on VW Fox

Just noticed one of my struts has shat the bed, any recommendations for aftermarket makes of decent quality?
I'm not looking for Bilsteins, or anything like that, just ordinary ones that will last a few years.
For example, Ridex can be got easily, but are they any good?

I tend to like Boge. Not too hard like Bilstein etc. Not too expensive like the sporty ones. But Boge are a ZF company and a proper OEM supplier. Sensible prices, good quality.

If in doubt, I just grab Bosch. Can't think of much else in-between them and Bilstein.

Ridex can be got easily, but are they any good?

Ridex are the 'house' brand for Autodoc, so could be made by anybody, anywhere.

Sachs and Lemförder are my go tos. Febi seems to be fine but can’t speak to longevity. Ridex a crap shoot and usually to be avoided unless budget is tight.

I've heard Febi described as 'best bang for the buck' but don't have any experience with their stuff myself.

I would vote for sachs, they are the oem supplier for a lot of cars including vw.

sach are pretty affordable and oem fitment in many cars

id also take boge /febi if the price is right

go on autodoc and look up the part , they give all the alternate brand part numbers , take that look it up on local ebay /parts sites for the best deal
