Trying to help a friend out. Car is a 2011 Kia Sportage.
It needs programming to recognise the keyfob after the fob was left with no battery fitted for ages and lost its memory. Red light blinks and I can see it transmitting something on a spectrum analyser, but no response from the car.
Had this happen with previous cars and it was just a case of following a sequence of ignition on/off and pressing buttons, but after a lot of Googling it seems this model can only be done via the OBD port.
Main dealer have been useless, quoted her 250 for a new fob and wouldn't even look at the old one.
Anybody have any pointers? Sounds like the sort of job @premmington could do in his sleep, but I suspect Glos is a bit far for a call-out...
