Hi, I'm new here.
I tend to weld up smallish things. At the moment I usually do it on the concrete floor of my garage with a shield on three sides made simply from three bits of MDF about 60cm high x 90 cm wide held at right angles to each other with clamps to make three low walls. This is simply to stop the sparks and bits of spitting metal from rolling under my bench /shelving/anywhere where they could start a fire.
I'm thinking of replacing this arrangement with a sort of three sided 'tent' out of fire blanket and fibreglass poles that could do the same thing and be less hassle to set up. Might even look into getting a workmate type bench with a bit of metal on top to put the 'tent' on as well.
Has anyone ever made such a 'tent'? or are they available commercially? (I don't mean the big pvc shelters, just a tiny fireproof enclosure to work in and keep the sparks in check.)
Any other ideas?
