recommend me an oil flush

The oil pump had a habit on re build \pump replacement\clean to not pump we used to fill them with grease AND spin engine till oil pressure came up without plugs,
Filling oil filters before fitting was always a standard thing if possible, even upside down will hold some oil if spun on fast enough.

Recently fitted a rebuilt 4.6 to my sons 110. When I built it up I filled the pump with grease, but it still wouldn’t pick up oil on the starter, so I connected a pipe from the oil cooler connection to the inlet of a small compressor so it acted as a vacuum pump. Sucked up oil that way in about 5 seconds & the oil light went out straight away.

Have primed engines by removing oil pressure switch & pumping oil in there via adaptor from bulk tank dispenser, that's what we always did on dry sump motors.
Fill tank, plugs out,any filters filled then crank with the bulk pump running.
Some people swore by Vaseline @Cobbler

I know Vaseline is normally recommended, but didn’t have any. Got the oil up in the end, that’s the main thing.

One the Rover V8 with a distributor you can take the distributor out and spin the drive in the bottom to drive the oil pump.

Clean out what you can before you refit them, leaves the clean oil less work to do !

Don’t forget to clean out the breather system , the breather filters were a service item on P5s and P6s . Blocked breathers made things a lot worse. The camshaft is almost certainly worn if the crankcase has loads of Black Death
