Snapping the bits???? That’s worrying.
I’ve wrecked a good few in my time when they get chance to jump but I’ve never seen one actually snap.
Screw wise, I find the Torx/Forge Fast screws far better to use than standard wood screws, and each box comes with a Torx bit.
Likewise, I buy nothing else now.
I use the torx screws for framing, much easier than cross heads, more expensive, but quicker and less effort, especially when doing 70mm plus.
I’m referring to brushless models mate. My 18v drill puts out 135Nm of driving torque.
Ah. I missed that bit Matt.Just had a look at the specs of the dedicated units. The drill is 15/30Nm, and the driver is 105Nm.
All this talk about drills has just made me treat myself to one of these.
I was originally looking to spend £50-60 but thought I might as well push the boat out a bit and get something decent.
48 minute charge is handy.
Looking forward to using it in anger.![]()

Never really rated the Makita bits personally. The Erbauer bits seem quite good. Been using those for a while, and the only bit missing from the set is due to one of the numpties losing it.
