Recommend me a hat (seriously)

Asking on here because I just know somebody will have an answer.

Apparently the sun does still exist (who knew, its been a while...) and with the advancing years and receding hairline, I'm suffering and fed up with doing an impression of a lobster.
I'm more of a beanie guy in the winter, but what are you using in the way of sun hats while working outdoors in the summer?

I have a wide brim bush hat thing that has seen better days, which I was trying to use to keep from burning the back of my neck. But the wind catches it or it is forever getting in the way and knocked off.
Boonieis don't seem to cover my neck. I suspect a Strawboater isn't very fire resistant...

I bought a Barmah hat last year for the hot weather.
When it arrived the hot weather disappeared.

For normal stuff in the sun, I've a straw hat, in wet weather, a barmah.

Bear in mind that ear defenders and hats seldom co exist.

you could do worse than a shirt with the collar folded up.

A legionnaire's hat can give good back of the neck protection, if much time might be spent in a head looking down position.

Tilley Airflo in a light colour keeps the sun off without boiling your head. Panama hats are very good too but quality varies with so many cheap Chinese knockoffs.

BTW put the strap behind your head so it fits snug under the dome of your skull and it stops it blowing off

I have two a waxed cotton one for serious bad weather also paragliding, kayaking and general hijinks. The Dorfman Pacific waxed cotton one here has never blown off even in 40+mph winds and survives been crushed up in a bag all day

Look on Aussie sites the have all normal hats available with a skirt round the back.
Rarely get a sunburnt neck by just folding the collar up. I bought a load of 100% cotton shirts from Australia and find them better to wear than synthetic "cooling" materials

I typically wear linin and cotton shirts far nicer than polyester
