recommend me a decent air powered stapler

I brought a draper one today what a load of crap it lasted 100 staples before i returned it and got my money back

what has happened to draper? is it made in china now too

I bought an Aldi one, fires pins & staples, 2" pins & about 11/2" staples if I recall correctly. It probably wouldn't stand trade use, but occasional use its great. I don't use it often, but made a load of trellis for the garden, the last lot I nailed & it saved me hours, I also used it for repairing a feather board fence & it would bang in the longest staples easily. I cut down the air pressure to control it, on full pressure it had far too much go for what I needed.

You know what Lidl & Aldi are like, take pot luck if it's there grab it whether you need it or not, it always come in useful ... Sometime!

You do realise you have to put more staples in it now and again?...

I bought a used Senco one a few years ago, nice light machine, ive had a few years trouble free service from it (occasion use)
I also bought a Senco 16g nailer a few months ago, only thing i'd fault that on is the non marring tip gets knocked off easily.

senco got a good write up its £100 but id rather pay more for something reliable i took the non marking tip off for general use

All depends what you want to staple.Some of them won't do smaller staples, some won't do bigger ones.
I needed something to do 4mm legged staples so bought a tacwise upholstery type.It know it will do at least up to 10mm but certainly won't do huge stuff.

i have one from aldi thats a sort of nail gun
blooming things a tad too powerful and tends to punch the nails/ staples below the surface of the timber although i might be able to reduce the air pressure going in to stop that.
think i paid £15 new

I have an air powered Bostitch nailer and it's excellent. The only misfire I had when re-framing my roof was when I forgot to turn the compressor on.

They have staplers for around the £100 mark, 7 year warranty too

Sadly Draper has been at the same level as Clarke for many years but they are trying rebuild a reputation and hand tools now have a lifetime warranty.

Bostitch or senco the bees knees .depends on what you want to pay and what use it is getting

it will rarely come out to play but when it does it could get a few hours use at a time the raper one was £40 and it was cack!

I have the Lidl version. Iirc, there's a knurled button on the gun itself which allows you to back off the pressure to suit your needs, and saves having to muck about at the compressor end of things.

Got the same one. Same for me used thousands through it and it still fine.
One of those genuine bargain buys.

Mine has no knob, just checked! You are wrong ... it's happened again
