Recommend an affordable low volume laser cutting service?

I have dxf files for four 150x150mm parts that need laser cutting from 2mm steel. And then depending on affordability I'll have more.

Does anyone have a preferred supplier? Always nice to work with smaller businesses. The more affordable it is the more parts I'll get done by laser cutting over machining my own.

If you pay cash he will run the parts overnight.

I've only ever dealt with one laser cutting company for a couple of one offs, they weren't expensive, but took a lot of chasing up.

I get laser cutting done at work through Sorb, they've got an online quoting system where you just upload a DXF, specify material and quantity and it quotes instantly. There's a significant price break ordering multiples of the same part though, and a minimum cut charge of approx £100

get a quote, pay and it's posted to you pretty quick, I was using it for quick prototyping... but it's so easy I've spent quite a bit there

I needed 44 800x500 1.2mm stainless sheets and a 4mm bend on all sides... local fab place quoted £4000... fractory did it for £1400

For anyone interested in a price comparison, I had some laser cutting done locally around December 2022 by Mellards in Stoke on Trent, cost £70 inc VAT collected, just put he same parts into Fractory, £90 delivered inc VAT. Mellards quoted £25 delivery.

I just quoted online from Sorb, for the same parts as my post above(shown below), £180 inc VAT collected and £226 inc VAT delivered.

Upload your dxfs and include thickness info, select what grade steel you want and they come back with a quote, usually within 24hrs

They can also bend cut items to your design as well
