we bought one of these second hand 15+ years ago,
its been brilliant! starting to need a bit more upkeep these days, but has far outlasted any other sit on we had before,
even the john deere petrol sit on ones were shot after a few years with us!
get a second hand commercial one, and it will last you years!

To be fair I’ve been to nicks a few times and the Siromer would be a good size for mowing it, but yes, I suspect it’ll be more the mid size ride on he goes for

Im looking for a little rideon with knackered cutting deck, Grandson wants his own tractor, but folk are wanting daft money for them!

That sure don't look like any mower I've seen, looks more like a fertilizer applicator with shanks.
FWIW I drove the CAT version of that tractor (JD copied the CAT one)
Very odd when moving from a regular dozer, but the ride is like on a cloud.

They do come up - I got this a few years ago for my grandson - it was a deckless Westwood before I attacked it. £120 on EBay.

I got offered one for nothing last week.
Not sure what is actually wrong with it, but neighbour has bought a Ego zero turn, so it's been sat outside for the past year.

Most ride-ons for sale in the UK are made by the Stiga group, most come out of the same factory in Italy.

The 'OEM' brands they supply include Honda, Massey Ferguson, Stihl plus others, including John Deere. To get a proper made in USA JD you have to go for one of the larger commercial ones.
Each one is specced slightly different but the build quality is generally good and a big plus is a good parts backup. A lot of the service parts are common across makes and you can buy non genuine parts like decks for a good price.
So I'd suggest you stick to one of the Stiga ones.
