My laser brother printer has a network socket, so it's plugged into the router. This is useful as I can print from the phone, and the tablet over wi-fi . Something to consider.

Another thing I like about mine is I can put a document in the scanner (or auto-feed tray), tell it to scan from the printer menu and it will scan it, save it on my PC and pop the scan up on the screen in whatever program I've told it to use, and you can specify different programs according to pdf, image or send it directly to email. It also has a handy graph/map setting for photcopying drawings which brigs the lines out very sharp.
Our local Tesco went through a spate of selling off cheap printers. No idea what they were thinking. I bought a Samsung all in one printer scanner teasmaid laser printer for £15 brand new and a colour Lexmark laser printer for £40 - crazy! Not done it for a while though
The lexmark would have been a good deal except... the cartriges with it would have only been 1/3 full at most and the replacements would have been more than the printer cost.
