Rechargable work / flood light

I will be doing some work in a poorly lit shed (barn)
Any advice on buying LED rechargeable flood lights

You can buy strips of LED lights pretty cheap, run off a 12v battery. Not exactly flood lamps but you can drape them in areas you need to be lit.

Get cheap inverter off eBay and then you can run 240v compact fluorescents or full sized fluorescent tube off a car battery
Another option is cheap eBay 12v LED bulbs that fit in car fog lights.

There's one at Aldi at the moment that's about a metre long! Might be worth a look?

a couple of cheap maintained led emergency lights on a -board are cheap enough and give a-hell of a good light 3 hour lasting before charge as well

The screw fix is more in my price range
Loads on ebay but with screw fix at least I can take it back if it goes wrong

Aldi have some 7W COB LED torches, unbelievably bright for 3 AA cells and a nice even pool of light unlike a lot of torches - £3.99 each.
We've been using some in trials of new radiation warning lamps at work.

I've used those as path marker lights, they fit a treat under the concrete coping stones of a dwarf wall... so unlike an overhead floodlight that casts your own shadow on the very ground you can't see, the tape LEDs create a pool of light to walk in.

If you've got a Costco card, they had 2 head torches at £7.99 in a pack complete with batteries. I bought some & they seem really well made, with a good light & very good value.

I bought one of the Screwfix 10W rechargeable lights this morning. Seems OK so far. Apparently the battery lasts for 3 hours and they don't like being charged while switched on. Charging is about 5 hours. Might be worth looking into ones that can be run with the charger connected if that would be a problem.

Ive got an LED Lenser ordinary torch, brilliant bit of kit, very bright, I had one of the original Petzel XP headlights, very good but it went missing, bought a Petzel replacement, the new Petzel XP is very poor compared to the old one, good light, but much flimsier made & no longer waterproof. Not worth the £40ish price tag.

Same as you though, I find a head torch invaluable, use it a huge amount.

The snap-on ones in Costco are quite good, Mine survived a 20ft drop off a gantry this afternoon, they light up the inside of a fan housing perfectly and dazzle the other contractors.
