Hello. I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I was interested in the older Hitachi welders because of their quality and reliability and knew they were very effective because I met an expert welder working on a roof of a large new building on a site where I was working & he was welding miles (a lot) of 0.7 Aluminium roof sheets consistently and it was very impressive work. Anyway he said it was Hitachi machines him and his mate used and not long after I saw one on Gumtree & I bought it. I paid £500 which was quite a lot for me at the time & also got it sent up from Somerset which was another sting in the pocket but I knew I would not get another unit same as this just turn up on me like that and I don't have 3 phase power. Its a apparently rare single phase 200 amp GP4 inverter pair unit and it works really well so far with the try outs I've done and a few small jobs but I have not really done any bigger scale stuff yet at the higher amp range. I do really like these older school made to last machines but information is hard to come by for them and the best info I have sourced about them came from this forum. ( I read all of Hugh's posts and saw his video Demo using the pulse feature on Alloy) Great stuff. What I am really asking today is if anybody can help me find a 5 pin foot pedal that will work on this machine? The prices from certain sellers in the UK for the Hitachi pedals is WAY high. I wondered if anybody could point me in the right direction? perhaps have one for sale? The pins on this Hitachi machine are the flat type . I have seen some Millar pedals online which use 5 pins but they are round in shape. I am quite a practical person and will have a go at any potential bodges or soldering tasks. Thing is I just don't know enough yet & would love to hear any helpful reply's. Regards Barry. (Inverness)
