We had the engine management light come on on a 2006 Hyundai Tuscon, neither myself or the main dealers could get the diagnostics to talk to the ECU or reset it.How people can think an engine management light is ok, Is beyond me! Idiots
I question if that the ability of the so called technician, They have all the kit & the technical info. But don't know how to use it! Thats why independent specialist garages are getting repeat business.Engine lights that even the dealer cannot diagnose... have to say modern cars can be scary.
How I read it, your car fails, so any existing mot is invalid, you take it home, arrange repair at a garage, they cannot do it for a few days, how do you get it there as you have no valid mot? The fail now takes immediate effect.
The dangerous fail leaves the vulnerable possibly open to the unscrupulous testers touting for work. I know they are rare, but we all know of them!
