Having sat in the back yard for over ten years with no T.L.C it was time to get the old girl back to looking her old self or at least a bit of a new make over

Haveing been out in all weathers for so long it will have to be a full strip down to the bare metal

the lights on this one fell out with all the rust around
The engine and box came away with the subfram
and wheels

they had a bolt on crossmember with the engine mounts on the rack and bottom arms were conected to it

that's wot i was trying to get at cross member

with the weather not no my side and needing to get the front off
drills and rain don't go the hammer and chisel got wet




think they went mad with the spot welder

with only having the week ends to do the work and if the weather was dry
it was a slow process it would take about an hour to get the car uncovered and all the tools out before work could get started

stuvy its a lot further on now but had to get a lockup to keep it in

were was i Yes thats it after cutting all the rust out and more plating


with more T L C and some welding

still with a lot of work to get on with and only spare time the odd weekend
It was time to look at the front suspension legs






it was looking in a bad way and time to get it stripped down




with it cut away it was looking pretty grim but with the grinder in hand
it was time to get stuck in
after a couple of hours it was looking better

with some of the welding done time to fit the new parts on



now it was time to start stripping the outer sill and inner sill

Nice to see another old skool ford being saved... But I agree with Schnappi... Your a very brave person. Thats def not for the faint hearted.

Walmac4. You must be seriously in love with that car. I only owned 1 ford, a P100 pickup. Still rusting away out back. It will not be getting that amount of attention.

the engine that came out was the 16 sports out of the mk2
now for the car wait till you see the floor or is it the road.

so now time to look at the off side sill or what is left of it

it was looking a bit on the rusty sideas you can see
this is a shot looking from the front to the back
a more closer look and yes it is looking bad


seing all that rust it was time to get it chopped out
now that was a task and a half
the complet sill had to be removed iner and outer sills and new
ones put in.

with the clean up done it was time to start
welding the new ones in place

now with all the rust cut away it was time to fit the inner and outer sill back to the car



with that welded in it was time to get the floor out next
i do know that that's going to be a job on its own

was not happy with the look of the weld and the patches
in the middle of the photo so had to get a better look.

drilling the spot welds out and removing the heater fan cover
then cutting away the rust leaving a nice hole


then it was just getting stuck in with the welder and so plats
then out with the grinder.
