So i finally managed to fire up this bad boy and wow do i like the welds this thing does.. its insanity
But as anything new theres a few teething issues..
now this is my first high end welder so some my questions may seem basic so bare with me
When im in Smig mode.. for some reason when i pull the trigger the arc does not start as soon it touches the metal more like a second after then it welds fine.. is this normal? what parameters should i be changing because i tried adjusting the preflow for the gas and burn back a bit but im bit worried changing it too much because i dont want to have a wire burn up in the welding tip
Second is i am trying to perfect my spray transfer on it.. Right now i got the machine on max volts (26) and my wire feed at 9.5 meters.. it produces a flame like arc with no bacon sizzling sound and the weld is very hot.. is this true spray arc? ive never seen it in person but its something id find handy when welding thick stuff.. What parameters would you guys recommend to get the best spray transfer? im using 1mm wire on a argon mix of 83 percent 2 percent O2 and 15 percent co2.. any other tips would be hugely welcome !
oh i also got a flow meter but its not fitted yet as the regulator is a side port one so if i screwed the flow meter to it.. it would be at a down slope angle.. would it be pointless using it because as i understand the mechanism works of pressure and gravity.. so it needs to be level right? or am i wrong
