Rebar - how much should I be paying?

Looking to buy about 40m of reinforcement bar to drop into some footings (concrete foundations). There are loads of options online from building suppliers to metal stockists and DIY merchants but it's a bit overwhelming to be honest as the prices seem to vary massively. I just want to know what price I should be paying for a 6m length of 10mm bar and a 6m length of 16mm bar? Location South London if that makes much difference. Cheers.

I bought some 10mm bar last year and I seem to remember it being about a £1 a meter including VAT from the local builders merchant.

6m length of 16mm 8.70 ex

Probably there is cheaper elsewhere, but I normally find brundles to be alright, if it's to far for you to go ask your local stockists and tell then you can get it cheaper elsewhere, normally they will try to sort a solution

That's much more like like it, chaps. I was starting to think the raw price of steel had sky-rocketed! Seems a lot of the big online places have upped their prices recently. Thanks for the info. I know now what to aim for.
