Some folk used the old half day's work Saturday to bitch about others getting on with their lives ..
I think you find that all changed due to Sunday trading and people having to work on weekends as part of their employment .
I seem to recall that in a private household I think you find it s 07.30hrs and up to 22.00 hrs except for Crimbo day , Good Friday , Easter Sunday & Monday and even then if your of Islam or any other non Christian belief system you can shove two fingers up to any Christian holiday .
The test is .... Is the noise commensurate with the task being done and is it at a reasonable hour ?
