Eyup everyone,
massive massive thanks to steve (weldequip on here) who supplied me with my clarke 160te with everything I needed to get going at a very competitive price, and for being patient when I rang twice a day to see how the snow/delivery turnaround was getting on... So far I've made up a frame for a rabbit's play house (something to practice with and it keeps the missus happy).
While I was in the garage practising today, I accidentally caught one or two quick flashes through rushing slighty. I've heard that arc eye creeps up on you late at night so just incase, I'm looking for a few tips - something about used teabags? Damp? etc...
Also, I used to suffer with asthma as a kid but grew out of it. The only time it really affects me now is if I get a nasty cold or chest infection. Having been in the garage and welding for around 3 hours overall, I'm feeling a bit tight chested and had to have a blast on the old inhaler...
The garage has two little vents at the back about 2 ft from the floor, and I had the garage door shut to keep the icey blast out. I was using co2/argon mix and was wondering whether prolonged exposure to the little bits of smoke from welding could cause chestiness?
Any advice on what to do if arc eye pops up & whether the smoke might be making me slightly chesty would be greatly appreciated
