Hi all, i have a pair of scorpion stainless steel end cans on my fireblade streetfighter and i need to make it louder but not obnoxiously loud. I do not want to touch the length of the silencers as they are very visable and make up part of the look im after for the rear end of the bike but i am happy to alter the insides. They are straight through non baffled cans with no DB killers, you can see straight through the 2" bore no problem.
I have thought about blanking off half of the inside of each silencer which will make it nice and loud and i have also thought about changing the type of exhaust packing from fibreglass as they currently are to stainless steel wool which would also make it a little louder. I have however just though of re-packing them completely with vermiculite. The stuff doesn't burn, its VERY lightweight and should do the job quite nicely but i dont know how good it is at absobing the sound etc. I dont want the cans loosly packed, they have to be done properly so the sound is consistant and it lasts.
Does anyone have any experience with packing with vermiculite or stainless wool that can chime in and lend any advice?
Thanks in advance.
