Re-ending g-clamps

my dad has many, many nice quality g clamps but they are missing a lot of the ends. Either swivel type or the plain rotary type.

Are replacement ends availabile to rivet on, or this is an easy lathe job?

Anyone done this before?

New ends are available for a few quid, or turn some up and peen on.

I prefer the buying approach, lathe is in bits after scraping class... I'll try and find some on eBay, that aren't from india

Perfect, price immaterial really - want the clamps fixed, can't be arsed to make them. Buy ends, fit ends, clamps fixed.

Yep, same here really. I could probably come close if I got some cnc’d as a favour, but then I’d need to spend a few hours of evenings in front of 360 doing the models and sod that

I was thinking by the time I'd bought stock, then electricity to run it through I'd not be saving anything, especially on the smaller ones.

To make one or two from offcuts I already had I'd do, but if I needed a batch...

Yeah, electric....I often forget to factor that in. Having had 1 day of sun in the last week, I’d be pushing 1/2 a gallon of diesel through the lister to run the lathe for an hour. Damn you all with your mains electric...
