Cost is an issue hence using a caravan axle.
My old 6x4 self built trailer requires a new axle, I managed to pick up an alko galvanised caravan chassis so I intend using the A frame, hitch and axle. The axle is too wide so will require cutting, but the main issue is the axle mounting.
The alko axle mountings are 75mm in from the outside of the axle tube and I need to fabricate a mounting that is at the axle end, any ideas on the best way to do this.
I originally thought of using the original caravan mounting/chassis rails which would be 75mm inboard but you are looking at a 150mm deep chassis rail at the front of the trailer
I'll post some pics to give a better idea of what I'm trying to achieve.
In the meantime have a look at ebay caravan chassis alko and you will see what I've got
