RawPlug Hammer Drill bits.



I have a few of the old style Rawplug Hammer action Drills and holders.

Most are sharp enough to use with the holder or in the Rawplug Hammer drill.



Now, here is the question.

Can the bits be sharpened?

If so, any tips or hints on how?

you can grind the tips a bit but the sides wear and you cant realy regrind the flutes 5 years ago I rang rawlplug up and they still had tons of the bits left stashed in the warehouse but they wouldn't sell me any as they hadn't the paperwork to be able 2 undoubtebly binned the lot

I was kind of fearful of that.
But I have enough 1/4" for a while. It was the other odd sizes I was hoping new life could be brought to them.

never had the drill but the bit end always comes in handy

hammer twist, hammer twist, hammer twist and you can slowly drill the hole by hand

ive had to do a few of them before now that way sometimes pulls me out of a predicament using hat method s always carried one in my tool box

the reason I wanted some new bits there brill for whacking in soft blocks for rawlpugs fixing socket boxes in quick . 2 bats with a hammer and there in

where did you get the rawlplug drill from. there was one doing the rounds at 3 or 4 autojumbles and boot fairs for a year for 30 quid

My first one was E bay for £20.
That one is in my works van and has 2 x1/4 bits.

The second one I acquired, for a friend, was £15 at a car boot.

They are not a common tool to turn up, but the do.

the drills couldn't knock the skin of a rice pudding sounded more suitable as a kids tommy gun

I use mine in a specialist care home. So only brick, breeze block, thermal block and plaster board.
It does not cause issue on site.

I wanted a new base for my old Sealy pillar drill as the original seller had dropped it just prior to me collecting it, so I got it for a greatly reduced price. I had the part number but they said it was no longer available. I quoted a different part number for a later model but which used the same base. It was in stock but they wouldn't sell it to me as i was going to use it on an obsolete drill and they didn't supply parts for bringing old stuff back to working!

I remember these, can you still get the fibre plugs , needed for complete authenticity in a period home!! Don't forget the slot head screws and tallow,
