Crown and valspar flow out excellently, Dulux was fine too but it's adhesion was poor.. And trust me I'm not a fan of brush marks but even so I'd take a few brush marks over nasty yellowed woodwork.

I use Crown satin white and its excellent! Goes on well and no smells. It seems to stay white too. Gloss is dead long live water based paints.

I've been using Linseed everywhere. It doesn't crack when used outside, just dusts, so none of that annoying stripping off cracked paint when going over it again. Environmentally friendly too! -)

I tried a tin of fly spray yesterday, didn't do a thing. IPA spray and a lighter got him though.

I’ve heard deodorant cans and a lightervare also quite effective

Setting issues with paint types aside, everything else where products "ain't what they used to be" is down to our claim culture, where litigation is the first refuge of the opportunistic idiot.

I'm confident the majority of the population doesn't chew on lead paint, but it's good that its not used on baby related items. Leaded paint is great for tools and machinery as it gives better protection, resistant to wear, and most of all, lasts.

What about lead free angling weights, any fishermen here? Do they work ok, are they a benefit to ducks etc?
I don't angle, if that's what anglers do, so that's a genuine question..
I fancy trying it some time though.caught plenty of mackerel, in the sea.

It was a big one on the wall , but after I smacked it, I snapped the swatter on the bowl and sent it to a watery grave.

Old sparkplugs, sash weights, or a variety of nuts work just fine for most purposes.

i worked in a cabinet making shop actually passed my apprenticeship there when we had a hornet problem in the summer we used to get sanding dust from the extractor very quickly though would suffocate and die. We then found out our reoccurring friends actually had a nest, in my bosses wisdom we created a lance to spray ammonia in to the ceiling into the nest, this made the workshop unworkable so we had the day off, he was right it worked very well.
