Back to ye olde photographs, the new Starrett punches I bought are way too hard and shattered when I tried to knock a split pin out with one. Majorly disappointing, @Brad93 tells me I’m to go with PB Swiss, so I’ll give them a try.
Mild excitement Tuesday, this impeller and housing are back from the sandblasters and are in primer, wow! First bit of proper progress in a while, slapping paint onI have some truly ancient orange paint I found in a deceased sale, that will be going on this. You won’t see the innards of this at all once the machines back together.

Make an offer - what have you got to lose? Besides anyone who says it turns over and has a spark but hasn't tried to start it is a stranger to the truth... (Oh well I've turned it over, checked the spark but can't be bothered to put a pint of fuel in it...really??? If he wanted top dollar he'd have it running!)

The crawler needed a new needle so I got to and made one, and it works! I thought £12 seemed excessive from the parts people. I needed to drag a sled of pine logs for burning, the thing had all but settled into the earth. Crawler gets everything moving again.
The bore from the JAP has been soaking in degreaser for the past few days to soften all the oil and wasp nests in the fins, I’m happy with the outcome after blasting. I’ll give it a go with some phosphoric acid and then get it into paint.

Somewhat amazed this thing actually ran as well as it did, the valves look terrible. My seat cutter is too small.
