Random orbital sander for 150mm sticky pads/disks

Hi folks,

I've acquired a load of sandpaper, and with it lots of 150mm sticky back sanding disks.

Most ROS seem to use hook and loop pads, how do I adapt this to sticky disks? Anyone got a recommendation for a sander, I have mostly makita tools but metabo seems to be creeping in to my grinders of late as I've now got 3!

Any help much appreciated.

Have you not got a pad, which the Velcro (hook and loop) has pulled off rendering it useless?

I think we've got one I could send you suitable for your needs.

I'll check Monday. It's definitely Makita.

There will be someone who sells an interface pad, with hook and loop on one side, and flat on the other.

If they dont, just get one (and interface pad) with hooks on it and run it on the belt sander for a bit - the hooks will soon be gone.

edit - probably even easier - get a sheet of hook and loop sandpaper, and stick your new paper to that! Only the outer one will ever ware.

Those new interface pads are well expensive, we paid over £100 for the last one, yes, we were probably ripped off, local tool shop and all that.

cant be certain but theres only 2 types of thread i think. i got a couple for mine . ones an m6 thread
