Ran out of zinc primer.....

Hello

I had recently painted by bare metal car (triump spitfire) with bonda zinc after etching the metal with phos acid (40% solution) and since put 3 coats HB primer on that. I have ran out of bonda zinc primer before doing top side of bonnet/wings. So...........

If I etch with phos as above, would a couple of extra coats of HB (celly) primer be ok do you think?

hello mate,

If ok I hope to prime this wednesday and topcoat next wed (car is in dry garage storage). Would it be ok as phosphoric acid will leave a zinc coating on metal?

Sod it, for sake of £20, will just get another ltr of bonda zinc. Bonda dries to a hard resin finish so will fair better if the inevitable stone chips cut through the gloss & primer.
