Thanks for that, Brew. Free p and p if you spend £30, which isn't bad. I have been on that site a few time but never spotted the Fantastic. Will order some when I have dealt with my Saabs rust problems. Some of the paint masks look reasonably priced too,

Many years ago I bought a couple of large syringes filled with 'pure dye' colourant in red and blue which were allegedly miscible with all paint types from water-based to oil-based to 2K. I've only tried it on a couple, but there have been no problems so far. It's surprising just how little can change the shade of a base colour to give the results you want. Although similar types are still available they come in tints rather than solid colours so aren't as economical in practice.

They don't charge to tint it so why bother ?

Back then tinting was an art and colour matching machinery hadn't been invented. With a strong dye you could experiment to get the precise shade you were aiming for - with a lot of luck!

I use a drop of red tint in my primer coats, getting darker as the coats go on. That way I can see where I am when sanding back.

When I bought my last batch of epoxy I asked then to supply the black tint separately. Which was useful as I had some white and yellow tint from a previous job.

Yup but I meant you can buy it ready tinted to the colour/shade of your choice and they don't charge extra for it so why bother trying yourself ?

You might not know what exact shade you want until you've actually mixed it.
