i want to automate the opening/closing of radiator valves in various rooms in my house - based on occupancy, as well as temperature, and controlled by my "home assistant" smart home system
with this in mind, im looking for a valve actuator which simply fits in place of a TRV, and can be simply actuated via relay
rough specs:
mains powered (although lower voltage DC could also work)
direct replacement for a TRV - i *hate* plumbing, so dont want to be cutting/jointing pipework to fit inline solenoid valves
ive tried the "smart wifi" type TRVs - they have several downsides, including battery life and price, but the main issue is that they need kludgey workarounds to actually have them simply open/close the valve.
i've had a look at "radiator actuators", but they all seem to be for underfloor heating - can they be used on "normal", wall-mounted, radiators?
