R Tech tig welder dc 200 amp opinions please?

Can't answer about the tig but i have their plasma and mig welder, both are excellent quality and service was top notch, good on the phone too.

I have the 160A version and as far as I can tell its a nice machine, I could do with the pedal for stainless though.

As Steve (langy) said i've got an r-tech 200 ac/dc tig,
Had it over a year now,
Over the year i've done most stuff with it,
Steel, stainless, 4130 moly, ali and silicone bronze,
Cant really critisise it much as it does everything i want,
Certainly got enough power as i've welded a large fitting to the centre of a 4" diameter 1/2" thick ali disc,
The cooling fan is louder than my old Cebora but it welds nicer on ali than the Cebora,and the power switch is on the back which could be a pain if you keep your welder under a bench and have reaching under to switch it on, not for me as i keep mine on a trolley.

Great thanks for that reveiw, it makes my decision easier now. when funds permit i will be getting a dc only rtech 200amp tig

only got a plasme so far but thinking of the 200 amp ac/dc tig sometime

havent heard any bad comments about r tech ever really

had my 160 ac/dc for quite a bit over a year and its a really nice machine and quite smooth. Have to say that the torch is a little too big but that so far is the only down side.

just resurrecting this as ive no tig experience other than night college back in the late 90,s ..
is r-techs quoted 6-7mm max steel thickness accurate or are they just being conservative in the description?
im looking on their site and thinking of buying one but would be happier with a machine in 240v that was up to welding 8-10mm steel and a proper weld
ive used a lot of 200 amp plant mma and mig that ****** all over 6-7mm steel so it seems a little low to me.
wouldn't mind seeing some visual examples of these machines on steel,thanks
