R-tech plasma 30c

    hi all so I’ve now bought a plasma cutter to go with my r-tech collection but have a question should the tip touch the material I’m cutting ?? I see and read that some models have a guide to hold the tip off by a couple of mm but there isn’t one listed or mentioned for this model.

    Nope. It should be a few (5mm?) above the work piece.

    That said, mine comes into contact fairly regularly and it doesn’t kill it. Just try not to drag it along the surface.
    If I have a spare piece of 3-5mm timber i’l use that as a drag guide.

    Ok thanks guys, just wondered why they don’t make a guide for it then they do for there other models ‍♂️

    R tech me it's a contact tip as it has the x cutout into it

    That's bang on the mark I now have mine cutting 10 mm off the generator and am very pleased with it
