R Tech 180 not feeding wire

Hello all. Long time lurker but my first post now as after many many years of faultless operation my mig 180 has stopped feeding wire. The relay clicks when I pull the trigger, iv seen in the manual about a fuse but I can’t find anything other than the the thermal. I can’t find any thing online about this problem, the spool/torch switch is fine. And I have gas at the tip, any ideas folks?

Also to note the Ali spool gun isn’t working the same relay is clicking

Hello and welcome !

When you pull the trigger, three things should happen: wire feed, arc, and gas. You do get gas but no wire feed, what about arc? Can you strike an arc at the tip of the ( stationary ) wire?
If you remove the wire completely, does the wire drive roller turn when you press the trigger?
If you spin the wire speed control up and down with the trigger pressed, does the motor try to turn?

In general, the legendary R-Tech customer support will certainly find a way of fixing your welder, even long after the initial warranty may have expired.

Hello, yes I get gas up, there’s no life in the motor tho, I spoke to tech this morning and I’m going to take it up next week for them to repair, it’s just frustrating and there is very little information on the web about it, I’m not sure the fuse mentioned in the manual even exists, iv removed all the covers can’t see it anywhere, im farmiliar with the operation of how a welder works iv been a fabricator for 20 years, the warranty is long gone, I can’t remember exactly how long iv had this welder but its a long long time, the repair fees are a very reasonable, a full internal replacement tops at £200 with carriage and components level is £30 an hour labour plus parts that are minimal, hopefully it’s something simple, it’s done enough work to not be repaired but to replace it seems hard to justify,

If the op contacted r tech they would of collected it next day, repaired it and sent back within a week.
