I just ordered two rubber bushes for the roll bar on my saloon from a seller on ebay. All the info on the post showed they were the right components with a 25.0mm id.
I got two items delivered in separate QH poly bags, both bags showing the correct part number, but one contained a bush with an id of 25.4 and the other and i.d. of 27.2mm (numbers as moulded on their sides and also verified by me).
I noticed that the package came from Rochdale (which I think is the home of QH) rather than Leeds where the supplier is located, so they probably came direct from QH..

It seems as if the QH parts bins are a luck-dip set up; somewhere in that same bin, there could be bags containing parts with a 25mm id .

Anyone else had any notably good or bad experience with QH lately?

Were the packets sealed when you got them?
I would expect the QH manufacturing/ packaging process to be fairly robust?
Unless it just happens to be the last 27mm off the line before they start making 25mm and they have had a mix-up or somebody noticed one in the floor/stuck in a machine and presumed it was part of the current run so chucked it in with the others.

I expect what's actually happened is what happens with my local motor factors,
If I go in and ask for a set of roll-bar bushes and there are a choice of 3 for my truck they just give me all 3 sets and then I return the 2 unused ones for credit.
I try and be pretty careful when I take more than one set but I bet there are plenty of people who just get all 3 sets out, fit the ones that fit and then not take much notice which ones go back into which boxes.

I have also heard of people taking all the options and using the most expensive one, then putting the lower value parts into the most expensive boxes for return.

I'm sure there are plenty of ebay sellers that have reseller accounts with places like QH but I don't think that many of the manafactures ship stuff directly.
If you can track back the dispatch address somehow you might well find it's just a regular motorfactors with an online store and the ebay seller is either involved with them somehow as part of a chain or has an account with them and is just drop shipping the item to you.

I would just message the seller and see what they say.
The ebay money back guarantee is also pretty solid providing you follow the correct claim process so although it's annoying it's nothing to worry about.

Well, yes, but my question was really about whether other people had good or bad experiences with QH recently???

Item's supplied in sealed QH bags, one made in 2018 and the other 2020. QH is now part of the Tetrosyl group, which may well have a foreign owner. Dreadful example of Quality Control.

I thought they went bust years ago? Think the name has been bought by a chinese company.
Helped a lad fit a QH clutch kit fairly recently, Didn't have any problems with it but it was in the red/white packaging so I presumed it was new-old-stock from Ebay or somewhere?
I'll find out where he got it

A few years ago I went through a period where i was fitting a lot of steering column knuckle universal joints to mk3 fiesta's . My regular motor factor was supplying me with QH branded UJ, which were crap, i was having to replace them again a few weeks later, sometimes the same cars came back several times. eventually i got fed up & decided to go to another supplier & fit a cheaper alternative branded as Balco. Surprisingly, the Balco UJ's looked & felt better quality on the joint/ bearings & once i started using these, i never had one fail again !

QH have always been a mixed bag, sometimes you get a good run of parts, sometimes you get garbage, and sometimes you don't even get what you've asked for.
It's been a few years since I fitted any car parts, though.

QH parts would be the very last parts I would fit ! Would be better off using S/H parts

I've had the exact same issue in the past with QH bushings. Never had an issue with other parts like T/Stat housings or clutches, but always avoid QH like the plague for any bushings or suspension components.

I once fitted a QH clutch , managed 400 yards before the problems developed. On removal the spring adjust or nuts were loose! Replaced a water pump on a Vauxhall Viva that promptly boiled up due to a faulty casting blocking the waterway , another on a classic Mini with the holes for the pulley bolts untapped, No wonder I couldn’t start the bolts
