Quick question on slate rooves and fascia boards

Would there be a non destructive way to cut out the front edge of the pine 6x2?

Let the high point of the felt down a bit, the plastic underneath and over a lowered facia onto a lowered gutter.

Getting a chunk of pine out without shredding the feltor smashing slates might be tough though.

Im just going to cut down the plastic drip thing, and stainless screw (or copper nail, whatever i can find) to the top of the fascia board.

The slate is all in good condition, and the roof is otherwise sound. Ill let someone else deal with it properly in a couple of decades (hopefully)

from the look of it it appears they have used either a 3x2 or 4x2 wall plate and just shaped the ends to the wall instead of running the rafters on top and bird mouthing it over the wall
i cant really see but i dont think its a fascia board thats been fitted

he would shred the felt membraine it would be pointless

dont nail it put blobs of silicone every 2ft on your fascia board it will hold it in place when you push it up into place

but you still need the eaves protector in place used more as a drip edge

Have put it all back up. Trimmed the plastic bits and slid them under.

Put the facia board back in the same place, which is too high, but due to the duff configuration of the roof, its not as if it's going to make any difference to membrane drainage.

What it being high does do, however, is wedge in the plastic stuff, so it's pinned under the slate, over the facia, and then bends down into the gutter. It's not an exposed area and it would need a hell of a wind to get it out, so it's not going to move.

So, I don't think it will have created any further issues, and I hope it may have resolved one of the original issues. I'll be upset if it hasn't, as that bit of roof is just above a doorway and I'm sick of hoping through the drips.

Will know when it next rains, I guess.

if anything you will have improved it by dripping it right into the gutter
