Would like some help/info on why my (cebora) pocket plasma 25 which blows the mains switch in my shop when you press the trigger to cut,no air comes out no spark, just trips the main switch out. Could someone please give me some answers, if they have any, thanks
These machines are a real pain when they go wrong. In my experience, the problem is most likely in the main transformer. I've recently done 2 and both needed new transformers. Cebora decided to use a 3 phase transformer but supply it with single phase, using capacitors to fake the other phase. This results in the center winding running hot and it eventually burns out.
When you pull the trigger, the machine closes the contactor and applies power to the transformer and capacitors. If these are faulty, the machine draws excessive current and pops the trip. Check the internal wiring first and if you know how, the main rectifier. If none of these are faulty, then your problem is the transformer. Get the machine to a repairer if you can.
